Teamsters Local Union 961

RREPORT FOR DECEMBER 16, 2007

During the last few months the grievance panel for the freight companies and DHL have not been convening due to contract negotiations.  The Local Union has been successful in returning two drivers, one at Roadway and one at Yellow back to work.  Next month I will do a recap on this year’s grievances.

ABF-The Local Union has sent out a request to add two drivers to Goodland and two drivers in Denver.  The response from the company representative is; go through the grievance procedure.

DHL-Contract negotiations for the Denver supplement will begin this week.

HERTZ-The Local Union has contracted other locals across the country about the radios in the busses, they are having the same problems as Denver.

ROADWAY EXPRESS-The local has filed for information from the company to see if and how many drivers from SLC are moving freight on the Denver Sleeper primary.  We have to protect our work!  Also we have made the company aware that running a Jiff tractor in the snow and ice is unsafe.

YELLOW FREIGHT-We won the grievance that went to the National Committee and as soon as we receive the decision we will notify the company to comply and return all the work that was moved to Greeley and Colorado Springs.
