REPORT FOR DECEMBER 16, 2007
Ampco valet Parking-There have been 2 terminations due to accidents. One has been reversed with the member being offered reinstatement. The second is in the grievance process.
Denver Newspaper Agency-The proposed contract was ratified by a 3:1 margin (34-12). Thanks to all who took the time to participate in the process. Retroactive pay should have been received b all members now.
Frontier Airlines maintenance-There have been 6 grievances filed in the last 30 days, 3 of which have been settled in our members’ favor, 2 are scheduled for a System Board of Adjustment, and 1 was withdrawn.
Airserv Corp.-The City of Denver and United Airlines permanently relocated 2 podium positions on Level 5 to ease traffic congestion and eliminate a safety issue. This moving of positions has resulted in the Union requesting an emergency re-bid in accordance with Article 20 Section 3a to allow our members every opportunity to ensure they are positioned according to seniority.
I am in the process of conduction Steward Elections at Frontier Airlines, Denver newspaper Agency, and Ampco Transportation AMOD’s. I urge all members to think carefully who they would like to see in these positions and participate in the process.
